Just a few things...

I added in cast information for Cheico Kawabe (Naru), Morikawa Kaori (Tsukino Ikuko), Kikawada Masaya (Furuhata Motoki), all for PGSM. The general cast profiles for that section are almost totally completed now, I only have four left.

I also have been working behind the scenes on taking screen caps for various episodes and organizing it. Eventually, we'll have a nice gallery system and then I can post them up as well. But since I was at it anyway, I decided to make a animated gif for the Teletia S transformation for the magic section. Eventually all the PGSM gifs will be totally converted to new ones made by me as well.

Little Updates

While Hitsuji has been slaving away on the back-end, I've been working on getting some of these sections finished. It's slow going, but it's actually happening. This site is huge already, and it's probably only half done! @_@; Rest assured that Hitsuji and I had a long dialogue and we're both aiming to be the best, most complete Sailormoon site on the web! (even if it takes a long time to do it!)

The first update is obvious, isn't it? I changed the banner up. This one is a little more artistic than the last one was. Brushes used to edit it come from Beautiful-Sin.net.

Today I also completed the information for Sailor Saturn's Myu actresses. This is extremely good news because it means I can start working on the side characters and the enemies next. Why is that good? Because updates should (theoretically, anyway) go a little faster in that section because there are usually a lot less actors and actresses to fill those parts. Not only that, but those are all the kind of parts that aren't in every single musical, which automatically cuts down on the number of actors/actresses.

In the past couple days I've also done a little bit of other editing and additions. First, I finished the cast information for Sugimoto Aya (Queen Beryl in PGSM). I also added two new, higher quality animations for the magic section - Rolling Heart Vibration and Tuxedo Power from PGSM and the anime respectively. Hitsuji is trying (trying being the key word) to get a list or at the very least a handle on all the names for the different items (the manga says one thing, the anime another, Bandai says a third, then PGSM gets in there and it's different... you get the picture) as well.

Overall there is still a lot of work to complete and the site in general is an ambitious project. Wish us luck, everyone!

Re-tooling the tankoubon section (7/14/09)

Edit 7/14/09: I finished another volume, so it's just 15, 17, and 18 left. I took a bit of a break from the manga section to polish up the PGSM summaries. I've added teaser text to the ones that are complete summaries and linked the important plot points to their relevant pages. And, believe it or not, I have been working on the awaited anime-summaries (behind the scenes, of course) that project will likely not see completion for a long while yet, but rest assured it is being worked on.

Edit 7/9/09: The tankoubon section is so close to being completed I can almost taste it. At this point, pretty much every page in the magic section (except Sailor Luna's) has been edited and corrected. All that's left now in the tankoubon area is Volumes 14, 15, 17, and 18.

From 7/7/09: It isn't completed yet, but from volume 1 through volume 6, the tankoubon section is being re-worked with links in the text so you can visually appease your curiosity. First mentions of characters are linked up with their profiles (if there is one yet), so you can learn more about the character and attacks and items are linked up to images to show you what it looks like. This should make it all very user-friendly and resourceful for you guys. ^_^

A side-effect of this was adding in some stuff in the magic section, specifically some of the missing page numbers for Sailormoon, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, and Tuxedo Kamen.

There is a massive amount of behind the scenes stuff that I'm working on right now, including anime summaries and some of the sections that are incomplete as of yet. Please continue to be patient!

New Profiles, Magic GIFs (6/25/09)

I've added profiles for the first three daimon to appear: Mikuji, Nekonnell, and Steering.

I also created a couple new animated GIFs for the Magic section, specifically Sailor Venus's attacks when she disguised herself as Sailormoon. Definitely some of the more rare stuff.

I'm going to be out of town for a few days in about a week, so there may be a decline in updates for a bit. No worries, I'll get back to work as soon as I'm back home.

General Updates

I've been working on linking the site up so that if something is written on one page that goes into more depth on another, you can just click on it and then go to the more specific page. So far, I've got the Magic section linked and I'm working on the profiles (which is slower going). In general I'm trying to get the profiles to be more intuitive and less of a mess, but it's a bit difficult to organize that amount of data on one page, and splitting it up seems like it would be even more complicated. I'm instead putting together some cut-links so that if you're looking up something specific you can just jump straight there. But that will take a while to organize completely. So far, Sailormoon's profile is totally up to date. While I'm going through them, I'm also double checking the fanlistings to makes sure those links are current as well (since that changes so darn frequently)

I've also finally gone back and added a few new animated GIFs to the magic section. I've almost completely redone all the ones for the anime, and after that I'll eventually tackle the PGSM ones. I'm just trying to track down a few of them as well as adding in the alternate versions of some of the attacks/transformations.

PGSM, Magic, and Updates (5/21/09)

Today I completed the summary for Act 2 in the PGSM section. It's an important act- the introduction of Sailor Mercury.

I also filled in a bit of information on Sailor Moon's Magic, most notably working on some of the stuff in the anime items section.

Itty bitty updates (5/19/09)

I only have a teeny bit of new content for you all, a page about Gold and Galaxia in the mythology section, and I also added a listing of the senshi's image gemstones up, too, so someday that will be up as well and distinct from the enemies. But lately I've been making small changes to a bunch of pages, but it all adds up, right? Hitsuji sent a bunch of images over to me to make use of, so I have been. Some of the pages have been updated with new photos, and I also added in the challenge speeches for several of the senshi. Other profiles have been tweaked with photos of their first appearances, deaths, or whatever else. Some updates have actually happened within the magic section as well, adding images or notations or just adding in supporting evidence for claims we make (we like to keep everything well backed-up here, usually by the original manga or anime)

Whew! That wraps it up. Most of the changes are very small, but compiling them all took a bit of time (as you may imagine). Improvements are always just as good as new content, after all.

Update 4/9/09

Well, I've been sick for a couple days... which is bad news for me and my paycheck, but good news for you. Since I've been stuck in bed, I've been re-watching PGSM so I've finally updated that section. There is actually (gasp) content up there now! Enjoy. So far, it's just a listing of magical items that were used in the series (there are three characters left to finish that up completely, but it's 90% there, so it's not bad) and then I'll work on the other stuff I've started for that section.

Other sections have been corrected and/or added to (like the magic section or profiles on the main page) as I've noticed new things.

Hopefully soon there will be more updates to that content.

Minor Updates

There have been some very small updates made to the site recently over the last month or so, and I am still plugging away (I promise!). Mostly, the updates have been almost too small to note separately. I prefer updating this page when I have something more substantial to report to you all... but since they've all kind of piled up, here's the list of things that have been done and are up since the last report:

- Animated gifs in the magic section. They still aren't completely done, but they are moving along at a decent enough pace. Sailormoon's anime transformations, attacks, and special powers GIFs are all completed. The rest are mostly completed, but still an on-going project. (And a tedious one)

- The Manga section's tankoubon area. The summaries are mostly completed, though there are still some volumes missing in that. But I have recently added Volume 3, and Volume 16 summaries.

Otherwise, I am working on lots of stuff behind the scenes that should be up when I'm sure it won't contain missing links or incorrect info (fact checking is a wonderful thing). So, I promise work is still being done.

Stardust Magic

Minor update notice for the first of July! I've been working to get out as many new, updated gifs for the magic section as possible. I have about 1/2 of them done now, so there's only about 30 left that I need for the anime. Included in this update is gifs for some of the rarer attacks in Sailormoon; including Sailor Body Attack!, Sailor Moon Kick!, and Super Supreme Thunder!. I'm working on completing the entire set, though. I realize having 30 left seems like a high number, but really it is quite a bit fewer than before. The bulk of the ones missing are transformations, I have most of the attacks made into new gifs. After I've completed the general set, I'll go back and make gif files of secondary versions of the same attacks- for example, all the Starlights have two different transformation sequences and two different attack sequences. I'm putting the longer, more complete versions of these up first but plan on making the other versions on as a secondary link later.

The quality of these animations are higher than the previous ones were. I noticed on a lot of our old files, the whole thing was shortened significantly- like taking out all the ribbons in Moon Prism Power, Make Up! or leaving out the water vortex in Neptune Planet Power, Make Up!. All the animations I've made have the full versions and are also (fairly) large so that you can see everything much easier. The only down side to this is that the files are also larger, making them take a bit longer to load. This isn't a big deal for people with uuber-fast internet, but the warning is out there for people still stuck on dial-up.

Once the remaining gifs are created, I'll make up a policy for using them on your own sites. Until then, please just leave them be.

Detail work...

I've been working to make minor corrections to the site, but nothing too new is out. The summaries for the musicals have been updated with corrections for the titles of the songs used. I've also fixed some broken links and made some minor corrections on profiles (for a while Diana's information said 'Artemis' for some reason... -_-; probably just over-looked, I guess).

I'm tentative to choose a major project that I am working on specficially on the site. After busting so hard for over six months on the layouts and content update that we last had, I'm afraid to label anything specific as something I'm planning on getting done in X amount of time.

Things I'm hoping to accomplish, however, at some point:
1- Update the links out. Delete obsolete websites and add in some new ones. (For example, we don't even have a link to the Oracle on there yet, and that site is certainly the biggest Sailormoon-related website around today.)

2- Update animated GIF files in the magic section. This project is about 1/3 complete. I'm trying viciously to get all of them made by me so I can ensure the quality of the images and the length of animation. As a result, there are several new ones that have been updated that I created that are different and higher quality than previous ones. This project is tedious, however, because attention is paid to individual frames of the animation and I have to get screen caps myself. Some things aren't too bad (the inner senshi's attacks from the SuperS season, for instance, all were on average 6 seconds long.) but others are significantly longer (most of Sailormoon's attacks and transformations verge on almost 1 minute of length!) and just take a bit more time. An example would be these two recently updated GIFs - Mars Flame Sniper took about 15-20 minutes to complete, including screen cap time while Starlight Honeymoon Therapy Kiss took about 2 hours. The length is just that much different. I'm trying to get a bit done with this every day (I promised myself one a day at least, but lately it's been more like 4-8 done a day) so this should be done relatively quickly, unless I completely burn out on it (which is totally possible.)

3- I want to create new individual layouts for the for the shrines. The layouts that are out now aren't compatible with all browsers, so I want to make sure to fix that preferably sooner than later. However, since they also tend to be a bit stagnant this isn't a major priority to me yet. Eventually, the whole of the site should be bustling and awesome.

4- Places guide. This is something that we are, believe it or not, working on. The thing is that most of this is occurring behind the scenes in the form of snapping up images and filing them away. Eventually, information will be available for all locations and images to support them. This will include not just places as seen in the anime, but also in the manga as well.

And that's about it. Sorry about the long-winded posting with no real meat for updates. I just wanted to let you know that I'm working, at least on my end, to ensure that this site is shaping into the best that it can be. In the mean time, hopefully Hitsuji will be writing articles in bare-bones HTML and sending them to me via email. I figure that I don't mind doing the leg-work to find the images, etc, to back it up. That is my job, after all, to deal with the visuals of this site.
