Little Layout Changes, Music Section Up

Lately I haven't been updating as much, so I apologize. There's been a lot going on in my personal life lately that has been getting my attention. Since I'm not sure when I'll have the time to finish this project, I decided to stop being selfish hoarding it and to make available the chunk of the music section that I've completed. I'll probably get a song down now and then but I don't imagine (with the stuff I'm dealing with) I'll sit down for a large chunk of time and just complete it in one shot, like I originally intended. So what I've completed, about 1/3 of it, is up to look at. I'll try to work on it soon.

Because it's a large section to be updated (even unfinished it is large) there may be errors in it. If there are, please reply to this post and let me know about anything you stumble across. I'd be really grateful.

Other than that, I tweaked the layout so it's a bit smaller (on my resolution that means it doesn't scroll at all anymore) but still retains the same links. All the headers have been changed a bit, too. I especially like the animated one in the arcade section of the site. Though I've updated the layout a little, the tweak wasn't big enough for me to call it a full on layout update. So there you go.

I'm not sure when I'll get a chance to work on this site for a devoted period of time again, or when I'll even have the ambition to do so. That isn't to say I've given up or quit (I'm far too stubborn for that, and look at all the unfinished sections! ^_^) but I'm not sure when the next *major* update will occur, so bear with me.

PGSM cast info & gemology updates

I added in two cast profiles today, one for Masou Jun who played Jadeite in PGSM, and one for Matsumoto Hiroyuki, who played Nephrite in PGSM. I managed to dig up some info on them that isn't on most sites, so I was pretty pleased with myself.

I also added some information on garnets to the gemology section. ^_^ More soon.

Seramyu Section Updates

I've been working on the songs in this section, so it should be no shock that I've made improvements overall to the pages for the musicals. I've also added in a few more general information pages for some of the musicals (Transylvania no Mori, Transylvania no Mori [Kaiteiban], Super Senshi e no Michi, Super Senshi e no Michi [Kaiteiban], & Death Vulcan). In addition, I've been linking the songs up as I go to the corresponding musicals. There might be a few bugs until I'm done with the sections completely, but I'm trying to double check my work as I go (if anything, it will be stuff I need to re-upload).

Compiled Updates

Over the last few days I've been doing small updates, but they've added up. Here's what's been done.

Seramyu Section:
Kaguya Shima Densetsu Kaiteiban about page, Last Dracul about page. Also the music is linked up to the proper pages on Gaiden Dark Kingdom Fukkatsu Hen's about page as well as the Kaiteiban.

Anime Section:
The very basics for episodes 47-64 in the Summary section are up.

Otherwise, I'm still working on the music section for the most part, but little updates have been done to keep up with that section. Again, it will probably be a while coming because of the amount of songs- even though I've finished about 80 pages for the songs, there are still over 200 left. Yeah, there's that many.

Little Updates

While Hitsuji has been slaving away on the back-end, I've been working on getting some of these sections finished. It's slow going, but it's actually happening. This site is huge already, and it's probably only half done! @_@; Rest assured that Hitsuji and I had a long dialogue and we're both aiming to be the best, most complete Sailormoon site on the web! (even if it takes a long time to do it!)

The first update is obvious, isn't it? I changed the banner up. This one is a little more artistic than the last one was. Brushes used to edit it come from Beautiful-Sin.net.

Today I also completed the information for Sailor Saturn's Myu actresses. This is extremely good news because it means I can start working on the side characters and the enemies next. Why is that good? Because updates should (theoretically, anyway) go a little faster in that section because there are usually a lot less actors and actresses to fill those parts. Not only that, but those are all the kind of parts that aren't in every single musical, which automatically cuts down on the number of actors/actresses.

In the past couple days I've also done a little bit of other editing and additions. First, I finished the cast information for Sugimoto Aya (Queen Beryl in PGSM). I also added two new, higher quality animations for the magic section - Rolling Heart Vibration and Tuxedo Power from PGSM and the anime respectively. Hitsuji is trying (trying being the key word) to get a list or at the very least a handle on all the names for the different items (the manga says one thing, the anime another, Bandai says a third, then PGSM gets in there and it's different... you get the picture) as well.

Overall there is still a lot of work to complete and the site in general is an ambitious project. Wish us luck, everyone!

Odds & Ends

Today I've been working on small updates here and there. I was originally trying to make a new layout for the whole site, but despite designing three new ones I didn't like any of them (or they just weren't very practical on a large scale) so I decided to put that project on hold a bit. I'll get back to the shrine layouts in a little while, too, though they are much simpler to design and execute than the main page's layout (which has a surprising number of restrictions...)

What I have done today is added in what little I've completed of the anime summaries to the site. I also made a profile for Kuroki Mio. Finally, I added in the cast information for Koike Rina, who played Sailor Luna on PGSM. With those tiny updates came a few smaller updates with them, but nothing major. I'll try to get more done soon, but I've been pretty busy lately.

New Shrine Layout

I created a new layout for Michiru's shrine. I also recovered the last layout for Rei's Shrine.

I'll try to get the rest done ASAP, but I've been pretty swamped at work lately (which is why it's been somewhat slow going...) Hopefully that won't be an issue too much longer.

New Shrine Layouts

I completed two today. I'm not sure how quickly I can get the rest done, but it's my top priority right now so hopefully soon (and hopefully I don't get totally burned out... >_>).

The ones I completed are Chibiusa's and Makoto's.

Usagi Shrine Update

So the layouts are kind of down right now, but it's prompted me to make new layouts for them. Usagi's is already up. Plus it won't have the irritating issues of cross-browser capabilities like the last set. Trust me, I double and triple checked in Firefox and IE.

Also, a couple days ago I updated Sailor Pluto's Profile. More soon!

A Tuxedo Kamen day... [8/9/09]

Today I added the casting information for both Shibue Jyoji (who played Tuxedo Kamen in PGSM) and the cast information for all the men who played Tuxedo Kamen in the musicals.

And, just for kicks I updated Sailor Neptune's profile.

Profiles, Myu Cast Info [8/8/09/]

I have updated Sailor Uranus's profile page.

I also added the cast information for the women that played Sailor Pluto in the musicals. Because of that, I updated the about pages to include links to the respective actresses.

In other good news, I've got the basics done for the summaries of the first season of the anime just about finished. I probably won't post anything up there until I have the basics for the whole series finished, but it is a start. Most likely, the full, written out summaries of the live action series will come first, but please be patient with me (as always...) as the summaries are probably the most time consuming part of the site to write up, especially since they almost always need to be just written in a straight shot without breaks, whereas I can edit things like profiles a bit at a time and have no difficulties.

Back to normal and Updates (8/7/09)

So after about a week of dealing with the google malware warning (which was a hacking incident -- see below for details-- ) for about a week, Hitsuji managed to persistently contact Google to get rid of the message. She finally prevailed today, so I could re-upload the website onto the new host.

I'm also in the midst of making the profiles more user-friendly and updating the images so that they are a lot better and (if possible to find a decent shot) full body. This will probably take a little while, however, because each new sailor's profile has taken me about an hour to finish. Enemies should go by a bit faster, though. So far, Moon, Chibimoon, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, and Venus. The directory for the profiles is also a little more streamlined now.

I also added in the casting information for Ayaka Komatsu and Alisa

I also completed the summary for Act 3 of the live action series.

Minor cast updates [7/25/09]

I added in the cast information for the actresses who played Sailor Neptune in the musicals. Also, in the PGSM section, I added a cast profile for Azama Myuu.

Seramyu Information [7/21/09]

Today I finished up the basic information for the first stage musicals, so all the Anza musicals have general information posted. Fumina moon should be next on the list.

I also added cast profiles for the actresses who played Sailor Venus, Chibichibi, and Princess Kakyuu.

Tankoubon Completion, working on the PGSM cast pages (7/17/09)

I decided this deserved a new post. The tankoubon section should be completed tonight (I will have lots of free time to fill, so this shouldn't be an issue as the only volume left is 18!) The next piece of the manga section to be complete will probably be a section for the shinsouban or perhaps one dedicated to the Mixx translations. These aren't major priorities, though, so it could be a while.

Meanwhile, I've been working on putting together some information about each major cast member in Pretty Guardian Sailormoon. So far, I've completed pages for Sawai Miyuu, Hama Chisaki, and Kitagawa Keiko. I'm going to try to get at least the sailor senshi cast member pages updated quickly.

Re-tooling the tankoubon section (7/14/09)

Edit 7/14/09: I finished another volume, so it's just 15, 17, and 18 left. I took a bit of a break from the manga section to polish up the PGSM summaries. I've added teaser text to the ones that are complete summaries and linked the important plot points to their relevant pages. And, believe it or not, I have been working on the awaited anime-summaries (behind the scenes, of course) that project will likely not see completion for a long while yet, but rest assured it is being worked on.

Edit 7/9/09: The tankoubon section is so close to being completed I can almost taste it. At this point, pretty much every page in the magic section (except Sailor Luna's) has been edited and corrected. All that's left now in the tankoubon area is Volumes 14, 15, 17, and 18.

From 7/7/09: It isn't completed yet, but from volume 1 through volume 6, the tankoubon section is being re-worked with links in the text so you can visually appease your curiosity. First mentions of characters are linked up with their profiles (if there is one yet), so you can learn more about the character and attacks and items are linked up to images to show you what it looks like. This should make it all very user-friendly and resourceful for you guys. ^_^

A side-effect of this was adding in some stuff in the magic section, specifically some of the missing page numbers for Sailormoon, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, and Tuxedo Kamen.

There is a massive amount of behind the scenes stuff that I'm working on right now, including anime summaries and some of the sections that are incomplete as of yet. Please continue to be patient!

New Profiles, Magic GIFs (6/25/09)

I've added profiles for the first three daimon to appear: Mikuji, Nekonnell, and Steering.

I also created a couple new animated GIFs for the Magic section, specifically Sailor Venus's attacks when she disguised herself as Sailormoon. Definitely some of the more rare stuff.

I'm going to be out of town for a few days in about a week, so there may be a decline in updates for a bit. No worries, I'll get back to work as soon as I'm back home.

General Updates

I've been working on linking the site up so that if something is written on one page that goes into more depth on another, you can just click on it and then go to the more specific page. So far, I've got the Magic section linked and I'm working on the profiles (which is slower going). In general I'm trying to get the profiles to be more intuitive and less of a mess, but it's a bit difficult to organize that amount of data on one page, and splitting it up seems like it would be even more complicated. I'm instead putting together some cut-links so that if you're looking up something specific you can just jump straight there. But that will take a while to organize completely. So far, Sailormoon's profile is totally up to date. While I'm going through them, I'm also double checking the fanlistings to makes sure those links are current as well (since that changes so darn frequently)

I've also finally gone back and added a few new animated GIFs to the magic section. I've almost completely redone all the ones for the anime, and after that I'll eventually tackle the PGSM ones. I'm just trying to track down a few of them as well as adding in the alternate versions of some of the attacks/transformations.

New Layout (6/16/09)

The whole site has been given a fresh look. It's all in blue now so that I can more easily cross-reference everything. So that's my next project- linking up the stuff that can be linked from one section to the other. This should make the site more user-friendly.

I've checked it already once for any errors and haven't found anything that isn't loaded yet, but if you find anything please let me know via email (or just respond to this post).

PGSM Updates, Site Editing (6/9/09)

Pretty big update this time. I spell-checked and edited the entire site. I'm sure I missed a couple things, but over all the site should be more consistent and correct. That doesn't seem like much, but spell checking every single page on this mammoth site took a long time, actually, and I'm glad it's done. Now I just have to make sure it stays that way.

The PGSM section has been updated as well, I added in a page for Tuxedo Kamen's items in the series, as well as a page for Luna's items. The bigger update for this section is that I added (complete! For once...) a character page that tells you some general information about each character in PGSM. It is certainly not as in-depth as the profiles are in the main section, but it is more tailored towards the live action and does include some information that isn't on the other profiles. I even made some cute lil' PGSM inspired sprites to go with that page, which was a project in and of itself.

Quick Update / News (5/26/09)

Just added an article about the gemstone Cubic Zirconia in relationship with Zirconia, the character. Nothing much else to report on the site, but I do have some news, though you may have already heard about it:

Right now, the BSSM web community is buzzing about a possible Re-dub of the entire Sailor Moon anime. Funimation is currently conducting a survey asking people to give their opinion on what they would be interested in purchasing. They list a variety of anime, but included on the list is the wild card addition of re-dub of the entire Sailormoon series. This is very exciting as a redub opens up the possibility of having a less-censored, more complete english version of the anime. Please be sure to participate in the survey if you would like to see the english dub given a revamp.

PGSM, Magic, and Updates (5/21/09)

Today I completed the summary for Act 2 in the PGSM section. It's an important act- the introduction of Sailor Mercury.

I also filled in a bit of information on Sailor Moon's Magic, most notably working on some of the stuff in the anime items section.

New Article (5/20/09)

I've written a new article for you all. It's a brief comparison between the fairy-tale Sleeping Beauty and the Dream series of the manga.

I am a bit sleepier than normal while editing this, so please let me know if there are spelling or grammatical errors in it. The content is correct, but if anything seems awkwardly worded to you please let me know about it.

I actually was working a bit on other stuff for different articles, but haven't managed to complete the writing on anything else. Feedback on what you guys want to see updated first would be awesome, so email me if there is something you're dying to have completed. I will try to accommodate (within reason) your requests.

Itty bitty updates (5/19/09)

I only have a teeny bit of new content for you all, a page about Gold and Galaxia in the mythology section, and I also added a listing of the senshi's image gemstones up, too, so someday that will be up as well and distinct from the enemies. But lately I've been making small changes to a bunch of pages, but it all adds up, right? Hitsuji sent a bunch of images over to me to make use of, so I have been. Some of the pages have been updated with new photos, and I also added in the challenge speeches for several of the senshi. Other profiles have been tweaked with photos of their first appearances, deaths, or whatever else. Some updates have actually happened within the magic section as well, adding images or notations or just adding in supporting evidence for claims we make (we like to keep everything well backed-up here, usually by the original manga or anime)

Whew! That wraps it up. Most of the changes are very small, but compiling them all took a bit of time (as you may imagine). Improvements are always just as good as new content, after all.

New PGSM Summary, minor design correction 5/6/09

I recently noticed that the links in the PGSM section's design were flawed (not matching up with the rest of the site) so I corrected the css file and the html so it looks a bit more coherent.

Also, the complete episode summary is up for Act 43 now. It isn't a main act, and really isn't super-important to the storyline, but I wanted to watch it again and thought I'd better get some work done if I was going to. It's one of my favorite episodes of the series, it's very angst-ridden and romantic, too... but not super-important to the series and could honestly be skipped if you just wanted the meat of the story... oh well.

Myu, Profiles, PGSM Update 4/30/09

I added a page for Morga (the first youma) to the Profiles section. This is (somewhat) of a bigger update because it means the template for creating the youma-profiles is made and I can (theoretically) make more youma profiles faster. I guess we'll see on that. I also did some updating to a few other profiles, including linking up an attack from the musicals to the pages of Tin Nyanko and Iron Mouse. The main list of profiles has been updated to include all the youma, cardian, and droids as well as their episode numbers. The only monster-of-the-day lists that are not complete are for the Daimons and Lemures, and hopefully that will be remedied soon. I also added in a few characters I'd missed from the musicals. I still have a few more to add at that, but I'm having difficulties figuring out where to classify some of them (such as the Dracul vampires). I guess I may have to make a new class for them.

I also added a new about page for the SuperS Kaiteiban musical in the Sera Myu section.

In the PGSM section, there is basic information for every episode of the regular series, as well as a screen cap of an important event in the episode. Summaries will follow when more of the bones are laid out, but there is a full summary for Act 1 available now. I plan on updating the summaries starting with the bold/important episodes, but they are very time consuming to write and edit, so please bear with me.

Other than that, I've been bouncing around different tasks. Today I've been working a little bit on the PGSM character section, but the update I'm working on is big and may take a while to get published onto the site. (Don't want to post it up here when it's half done, after all...)

Myu Update / PGSM Update 4/24/09

More goodies for you all. I added a summary for the Sailor Stars Kaiteiban (Sailor Stars Revision) musical. I also added the basic information for that same musical, both up in the Musicals Section.

I also put some basic information up on the Pretty Guardian Sailormoon section of the site regarding the series as a whole. It is a decent sum-up of the series; how it is different from the other incarnations of Sailor Moon, etcetcera.

I've been quite the busy-bee lately and I have more stuff that I'm working on, but as of right now it's not completely finished so I'm not adding it quite yet. I can't wait to get it finished so you all can see it!

Mid-size Myu Update - 4/21/09

I made a medium-sized update to the SeraMyu section today. I added in an "about" page for the separate shows so that you can just get quick-cut information about them. This will come in handy if you want to know which was the first musical to feature Sailor Saturn or what song was the introduction to which musical.

So far in the about section, I've added the first three musicals that were released on DVD/VHS. I included links on the songs to the specific performances (courtesy of YouTube) so if you want to get a general feel of the song, that's a great way to start. Now that I have a mapped out formula for laying the information out, it should be easier to add more musicals to those pages. Eventually more summaries will follow suit- they just take a lot longer to put together.

Linkage Update - 4/16/09

I'd been intending on revamping our collected links section for some time now, and had a list of links in one of my files just waiting to be added so...

... I finally did it today. Though it took surprisingly more effort that I anticipated and now hours have gone by (when the update is relatively simple and it takes so long I sometimes regret not using html editing software and doing everything by hand, but... oh well.)

Lots of new links are available in that section now, and overall it's been cleaned up and organized so that it's more coherent. Everything now has a label under the link that lets you know right away if it's an active or static site, as well as what exactly the site is about and why it's good. I'll try to be a bit quicker when I update that section in the future, but no promises...

Update 4/9/09

Well, I've been sick for a couple days... which is bad news for me and my paycheck, but good news for you. Since I've been stuck in bed, I've been re-watching PGSM so I've finally updated that section. There is actually (gasp) content up there now! Enjoy. So far, it's just a listing of magical items that were used in the series (there are three characters left to finish that up completely, but it's 90% there, so it's not bad) and then I'll work on the other stuff I've started for that section.

Other sections have been corrected and/or added to (like the magic section or profiles on the main page) as I've noticed new things.

Hopefully soon there will be more updates to that content.

Detail work...

I've been working to make minor corrections to the site, but nothing too new is out. The summaries for the musicals have been updated with corrections for the titles of the songs used. I've also fixed some broken links and made some minor corrections on profiles (for a while Diana's information said 'Artemis' for some reason... -_-; probably just over-looked, I guess).

I'm tentative to choose a major project that I am working on specficially on the site. After busting so hard for over six months on the layouts and content update that we last had, I'm afraid to label anything specific as something I'm planning on getting done in X amount of time.

Things I'm hoping to accomplish, however, at some point:
1- Update the links out. Delete obsolete websites and add in some new ones. (For example, we don't even have a link to the Oracle on there yet, and that site is certainly the biggest Sailormoon-related website around today.)

2- Update animated GIF files in the magic section. This project is about 1/3 complete. I'm trying viciously to get all of them made by me so I can ensure the quality of the images and the length of animation. As a result, there are several new ones that have been updated that I created that are different and higher quality than previous ones. This project is tedious, however, because attention is paid to individual frames of the animation and I have to get screen caps myself. Some things aren't too bad (the inner senshi's attacks from the SuperS season, for instance, all were on average 6 seconds long.) but others are significantly longer (most of Sailormoon's attacks and transformations verge on almost 1 minute of length!) and just take a bit more time. An example would be these two recently updated GIFs - Mars Flame Sniper took about 15-20 minutes to complete, including screen cap time while Starlight Honeymoon Therapy Kiss took about 2 hours. The length is just that much different. I'm trying to get a bit done with this every day (I promised myself one a day at least, but lately it's been more like 4-8 done a day) so this should be done relatively quickly, unless I completely burn out on it (which is totally possible.)

3- I want to create new individual layouts for the for the shrines. The layouts that are out now aren't compatible with all browsers, so I want to make sure to fix that preferably sooner than later. However, since they also tend to be a bit stagnant this isn't a major priority to me yet. Eventually, the whole of the site should be bustling and awesome.

4- Places guide. This is something that we are, believe it or not, working on. The thing is that most of this is occurring behind the scenes in the form of snapping up images and filing them away. Eventually, information will be available for all locations and images to support them. This will include not just places as seen in the anime, but also in the manga as well.

And that's about it. Sorry about the long-winded posting with no real meat for updates. I just wanted to let you know that I'm working, at least on my end, to ensure that this site is shaping into the best that it can be. In the mean time, hopefully Hitsuji will be writing articles in bare-bones HTML and sending them to me via email. I figure that I don't mind doing the leg-work to find the images, etc, to back it up. That is my job, after all, to deal with the visuals of this site.

Frivolous Updates

I'm supposed to be doing info... right? Umm... Well I did make 4 new Sailor Moon tarot cards.

In truth I'm gearing up for the huge update for Takeuchi-sensei's B-day. As a tradition this website updates around March 15th... so I usually prepare her gift this far in advance...

Once I have the royalty up, you can cast such fortunes as when is Hitsuji going to update the website.

I'll add other stuff... I took a few screen shots of SMR that are critical to the series, such as Usagi with the wrong hair color and hair style, the '93 sign on the bridge, the final poses of attacks, the transformation pens, and locations, such as the Tsukino House, Tsukino Neighborhood, the top of Crystal Tower where Serenity Palace is. I'm hoping Mako-chan will "discover" them under captures in the picture section. I really do want to be one of the only websites that has pictures of all of the places in SM. But such things take lots of time to do.

I also have lots of personal crap this year that I need to get rid of.... so I may do more or less than expected, depends on how I decide how to deal with it.

Sorry about the php issues. ^_^" It's being dealt with. Honestly, it is.

I just wanted to let you all know that major work is happening, it's just all behind the scenes. Eventually there will be one enormous update, but it's just got more time on it before it's ready for the big unveiling.

There should be more image updates as well as general stuff being added that previously I couldn't contribute to. Even some of the more objective information I can add now just because I actually have the resources now. I'm not going to go into the details of the next update too much, just know it's a major one and I hope you all like it! ^_^;

So, I guess just sit tight for a couple more months. I'll work like a madwoman to get all of it done as fast as possible. And Hitsuji's promised new information and content updates when she gets to it, so I think she'll pull through with some new stuff as well.
