With any gallery or website for that matter, there is bound to be some questions that arise. Because I can anticipate many of them, I've included this section.
"Can I take the pictures? / Use them on my website?"
Yes, but beforehand, please read the Image Policy to be 100% clear on the details.
"Can I use them in another gallery?
Absolutely, within reason. I only ask that you follow the Image Policy and don't use every image available for your own gallery. It would be a little silly to have two of the exact same thing around. Otherwse, it is entirely fine- after all, this is Takeuchi-sensei's hard work, not the fans who scanned it (though scanning is a chore, it should be a labor of love).
"What's the point?/Why bother with an image gallery at all?/Aren't all these images on the web somewhere now, anyway?"
While most or all of the images are already online somewhere, this part of the site as with the rest of Celestial Luminary is to provide a resource for the fans. Some images were pulled from the web, but some I did scan myself, so perhaps they weren't on the web before that. And even some of the anime images are screen shots taken by me. Regardless of being able to find all the images or not, this is intended to be a place you can find the images in a well-organized manner. While most Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon image galleries provide sections for characters, it is rarely this specific, right down to the uniforms that Mamoru wears to separating the senshi into princess forms (and not just Moon and Chibimoon). This is especially helpful to the fan looking to make a shrine to a specific senshi and needing a good example image of them in each of their "forms". Here there is plenty to choose from.
"Why isn't _______ section done? Why are some sections done sooner than others?"
The simple answer is that I (Mako-chan) scan many of the images myself. Since I have access to more manga and artbooks those sections tend to come up first. As to the other orders, those come up at random (basically whatever I feel would be good to work on).
"I'm looking for a specific picture. Do you have it?"
If you don't see it, then I don't have it. And even if I have the manga, I'm probably not going to scan it for you (sorry!). My life is too busy to take requests.
"How do you choose what goes up/Why don't you have up this picture?"
I choose what goes up by picking out what I like or think is pretty. This holds true especially when I'm scanning it in.
"Why don't you just scan the whole thing?"
Two reasons: 1 - it's called copyright infringement. For anyone who is unaware of the term, it means that by scanning in the entire thing, I am cheating the company and creator out of potential new customers. There are areas of this site which tell you where to buy the artbooks, manga, etc. 2 - scanning is time consuming. I certainly don't want to sit around waiting for eighteen manga volumes and five healthy sized artbooks to scan. I'm busy.
"Who runs this area?"
Both Hitsuji and Mako-chan, but (mostly) we just add things whenever we feel it's necessary, or find something else we like. Right now Mako-chan is working to get up the base areas through her own scans, but Hitsuji can add anything she wants. ^_^
"An Image is broken!"
Are you sure it's really broken? If it's a thumbnail, try refreshing the page or right-clicking the image and choose the "show image" option. If it's the link to the image, refresh the page. If it's still not showing up, then it may be a broken image. Sorry. ^_^; I do try to double check all the images when they go up, but some may have fallen through the cracks. Email me at NOSPAMmakochan24@yahoo.com and I'll try to get it fixed ASAP. Be sure to include the section of the gallery and, if possible, a description of the image (based on the thumbnail for the full image or the image for the thumbnail).
