Almost there... Pretty Back End

The Pretty Back End is coming. It's only a few steps away. Then I'll pirate the code for the shrines an add an update manager.

Thanks to my Dad for his patience and help in dcoding these pages. A dream come true after 11+ years of waiting for the Computer tech to catch up to my idea. =P

And thanks to Mako-chan who put up with waiting for 10 years. =P

Little Layout Changes, Music Section Up

Lately I haven't been updating as much, so I apologize. There's been a lot going on in my personal life lately that has been getting my attention. Since I'm not sure when I'll have the time to finish this project, I decided to stop being selfish hoarding it and to make available the chunk of the music section that I've completed. I'll probably get a song down now and then but I don't imagine (with the stuff I'm dealing with) I'll sit down for a large chunk of time and just complete it in one shot, like I originally intended. So what I've completed, about 1/3 of it, is up to look at. I'll try to work on it soon.

Because it's a large section to be updated (even unfinished it is large) there may be errors in it. If there are, please reply to this post and let me know about anything you stumble across. I'd be really grateful.

Other than that, I tweaked the layout so it's a bit smaller (on my resolution that means it doesn't scroll at all anymore) but still retains the same links. All the headers have been changed a bit, too. I especially like the animated one in the arcade section of the site. Though I've updated the layout a little, the tweak wasn't big enough for me to call it a full on layout update. So there you go.

I'm not sure when I'll get a chance to work on this site for a devoted period of time again, or when I'll even have the ambition to do so. That isn't to say I've given up or quit (I'm far too stubborn for that, and look at all the unfinished sections! ^_^) but I'm not sure when the next *major* update will occur, so bear with me.

Just got through more of the back end.

What's left?:
Attributes Adjuster (and the tech to go with it.)
Back end character Search.
Image editor.
Appearance editor. (Maybe)

Then the program should be functional.

Are people phobic of giving feedback? Perhaps they are.

I apologize as well for not being able to personally put in new content but between College and trying to put together a pretty back end, it just be that way.

I added in cast information for Cheico Kawabe (Naru), Morikawa Kaori (Tsukino Ikuko), Kikawada Masaya (Furuhata Motoki), all for PGSM. The general cast profiles for that section are almost totally completed now, I only have four left.

I also have been working behind the scenes on taking screen caps for various episodes and organizing it. Eventually, we'll have a nice gallery system and then I can post them up as well. But since I was at it anyway, I decided to make a animated gif for the Teletia S transformation for the magic section. Eventually all the PGSM gifs will be totally converted to new ones made by me as well.

I'm still plugging away at the music section. Slowly but surely it's shrinking down to a more manageable number of songs.

While I haven't done too much in the way of visible updates, I have actually added cast profiles for Endo Yoshito (who played Zoisite on PGSM) and Kubodera Akira (who played Kunzite on PGSM). I'm trying very hard to stay focused on the music section, though, because for once I'd like to have something pretty much finished when it's posted on here. ^_^;

I've been doing little updates here and there to make some general improvements, nothing too extensive. But I did finally add a basic page for Act Zero, The Special Act, and Kirari Super Live to the summaries pages of the live action section. These were a long time coming, and I apologize they weren't up sooner.

I also added a couple more basic pages to the anime summaries, but nothing too exciting. ^_^ I'm hoping to have that section ~~done~~ well, better, anyway, before new year's. At least get the basic info up, but we'll see if I achieve that goal. My work schedule always picks up in the winter time, and I'm still busting my butt for other sections of the site...

Speaking of which, I've still been busy working on the music section behind the scenes. It's slow going, I have exactly 200 songs left to catalog (which gets more extensive every day I think.. "oh! I should put this information on there, too!") So I'm about 1/3 done with it. Which isn't too bad, considering. I'll be excited to have it completed, because I really do think it's a pretty unique guide.

Major Myu Section Update

So as of today, all the musicals are covered, at least basically, in that area! Whew! The new ones are Toujou! Ankoku no Princess Black Lady, Toujou! Ankoku no Princess Black Lady Kaiteiban, 10th Anniversary Festival, Mugen Gakuen Mistress Labyrinth, Mugen Gakuen Mistress Labyrinth Kaiteiban, Starlights*Ryuusei Densetsu, Kakyuu-Ouhi Kourin.

I also updated all the cast pages so that the musicals they were in are all listed now, as well as the number of performances they gave (as that character, since some of the actors and actresses remained with Myu but continued with a new character).

All in all, it was a lot of work, but I'm happy that it's finished, more or less. All that is left now is to finish the cast pages and the music up, then link it all together.

I added in two more musicals to the general information area for Seramyu. The new musicals are Shin Kaguya Shima Densetsu, and Shin Kaguya Shima Densetsu Kaiteiban MARINAMOON FINAL. I only have seven left! (out of 27, that isn't bad!)

I added a profile for Sailor Astarte and have been reorganizing that section and making it more complete. Once Hitsuji is finished with the back-end, the updates in this section should go a bit faster.

I've also still been working on linking up the music and getting that section done, but it's still slow-going.

PGSM cast info & gemology updates

I added in two cast profiles today, one for Masou Jun who played Jadeite in PGSM, and one for Matsumoto Hiroyuki, who played Nephrite in PGSM. I managed to dig up some info on them that isn't on most sites, so I was pretty pleased with myself.

I also added some information on garnets to the gemology section. ^_^ More soon.

I've been working on the songs in this section, so it should be no shock that I've made improvements overall to the pages for the musicals. I've also added in a few more general information pages for some of the musicals (Transylvania no Mori, Transylvania no Mori [Kaiteiban], Super Senshi e no Michi, Super Senshi e no Michi [Kaiteiban], & Death Vulcan). In addition, I've been linking the songs up as I go to the corresponding musicals. There might be a few bugs until I'm done with the sections completely, but I'm trying to double check my work as I go (if anything, it will be stuff I need to re-upload).

Over the last few days I've been doing small updates, but they've added up. Here's what's been done.

Seramyu Section:
Kaguya Shima Densetsu Kaiteiban about page, Last Dracul about page. Also the music is linked up to the proper pages on Gaiden Dark Kingdom Fukkatsu Hen's about page as well as the Kaiteiban.

Anime Section:
The very basics for episodes 47-64 in the Summary section are up.

Otherwise, I'm still working on the music section for the most part, but little updates have been done to keep up with that section. Again, it will probably be a while coming because of the amount of songs- even though I've finished about 80 pages for the songs, there are still over 200 left. Yeah, there's that many.

Lately I've been immersed in working on the music section for the site. It's shaping up really nice, and I haven't seen any other sites with quite the same idea. Those of you who are really savvy may have noticed that the character pages in the PGSM section have the image songs linked up to the new section. I also linked up the first two musicals to their songs as well, but although it's moving rather quickly it's still probably several months away from completion (there are honestly just so many songs).

The main music page won't be up until it's completed, I've decided, but if you're really chomping at the bit you can take a look at this page for one of the musical's songs to get an idea of what the feel will be like. Enjoy! ^_~

I spent the majority of today coding a page with my Dad. This page makes the fields for the input of the characters.

There are still some major sections to do, such as subdividing the characters into categories and sub categories. Once that is done, and all set, the character edit page to help us edit and manage the characters and a front-end GUI manager (either through template manager or through a backend GUI) is coming next. After that's all done, it's onto making the image management... Then after that it's refining the program a little to show categories for characters through a pop-up.

Hopefully after All of THAT on top, then I can use the previous code to make a Shrine manager and image manager for the site. Meaning that my dream of making this site less heavy on management will become true.

Automatic updating of files, you know it!

I think we'll be officially the highest custom-tech Sailor Moon site around. O.o;; I mean who else would go through all this trouble to write a character profile manager? (There are something like near to 300 characters in Sailor Moon, so there is no way you CAN'T do this... unless you plan not to have a complete character guide.)

While Hitsuji has been slaving away on the back-end, I've been working on getting some of these sections finished. It's slow going, but it's actually happening. This site is huge already, and it's probably only half done! @_@; Rest assured that Hitsuji and I had a long dialogue and we're both aiming to be the best, most complete Sailormoon site on the web! (even if it takes a long time to do it!)

The first update is obvious, isn't it? I changed the banner up. This one is a little more artistic than the last one was. Brushes used to edit it come from Beautiful-Sin.net.

Today I also completed the information for Sailor Saturn's Myu actresses. This is extremely good news because it means I can start working on the side characters and the enemies next. Why is that good? Because updates should (theoretically, anyway) go a little faster in that section because there are usually a lot less actors and actresses to fill those parts. Not only that, but those are all the kind of parts that aren't in every single musical, which automatically cuts down on the number of actors/actresses.

In the past couple days I've also done a little bit of other editing and additions. First, I finished the cast information for Sugimoto Aya (Queen Beryl in PGSM). I also added two new, higher quality animations for the magic section - Rolling Heart Vibration and Tuxedo Power from PGSM and the anime respectively. Hitsuji is trying (trying being the key word) to get a list or at the very least a handle on all the names for the different items (the manga says one thing, the anime another, Bandai says a third, then PGSM gets in there and it's different... you get the picture) as well.

Overall there is still a lot of work to complete and the site in general is an ambitious project. Wish us luck, everyone!

What have I been doing? Yay! More coding. And yet more coding. And College work.

None of the results will be seen for a while, but if this pretty back end can get done, then the image gallery and the shrines won't be that far away.

I'm also working on two lovely little surprises... one for the main site and one for Sailor Moon's section. The Sailor Moon one might get done this year if I have time to work on it between *gasp* college work. We'll see. The main site one is almost all done. ^_^ I checked and it's something that no one has done so far. And I'm going to brand it.

BTW, I've found all of the fonts that were used in Sailor Moon thus far. ^_^

Today I've been working on small updates here and there. I was originally trying to make a new layout for the whole site, but despite designing three new ones I didn't like any of them (or they just weren't very practical on a large scale) so I decided to put that project on hold a bit. I'll get back to the shrine layouts in a little while, too, though they are much simpler to design and execute than the main page's layout (which has a surprising number of restrictions...)

What I have done today is added in what little I've completed of the anime summaries to the site. I also made a profile for Kuroki Mio. Finally, I added in the cast information for Koike Rina, who played Sailor Luna on PGSM. With those tiny updates came a few smaller updates with them, but nothing major. I'll try to get more done soon, but I've been pretty busy lately.

So the layouts are kind of down right now, but it's prompted me to make new layouts for them. Usagi's is already up. Plus it won't have the irritating issues of cross-browser capabilities like the last set. Trust me, I double and triple checked in Firefox and IE.

Also, a couple days ago I updated Sailor Pluto's Profile. More soon!

Impossible Sailor Moon Quiz

I re-added back the links for the quizzes for Sailor Moon and added an impossible quiz. It's impossible because it's in Japanese and has specific directions. ^_^ Even a Japanese Sailor Moon buff wouldn't be able to answer very well. And just so you know, there are prizes for the impossible levels. I think, though that if you attempt it, you will want to cry and the prize I set up will be a legendary prize.

Though the level 3 impossible prize outstrips any Sailor Moon prize on the planet, granted that you're an English speaker in Japan.

And I guarantee that even in a few years *I* Won't be able to pass without looking it up!

I also fixed the lack of date problem at the end of the blog. Yay. No more having to put it at the top.

My Dad and I are working on and off on the backend of the website in terms of making a character profile system. For you users, you'll see nothing different, but for us, this means more rapid updates on profiles. We've gotten to the selecting the character part... but not much beyond that.

Lastly, I'm working on upgrading my profile and information on the site. It's out of date and a bit hockey. O.o;; I'm also working on a shrine which I'm gathering pictures for.

I'll also fix the fan fiction system, but I need extra helpers to manage. I might bring in some people to filter. Unlike Fan fiction.net I'd like *good* fan fiction in the archive. (I'm using efiction.)

I have updated Sailor Uranus's profile page.

I also added the cast information for the women that played Sailor Pluto in the musicals. Because of that, I updated the about pages to include links to the respective actresses.

In other good news, I've got the basics done for the summaries of the first season of the anime just about finished. I probably won't post anything up there until I have the basics for the whole series finished, but it is a start. Most likely, the full, written out summaries of the live action series will come first, but please be patient with me (as always...) as the summaries are probably the most time consuming part of the site to write up, especially since they almost always need to be just written in a straight shot without breaks, whereas I can edit things like profiles a bit at a time and have no difficulties.
