Trivia:

This song was used as the theme for the first four seasons of Sailormoon. The later two seasons that used it updated it with a version sung by Moon Lips, a group of actress/singers who played the inner senshi in the Sailor Moon Musicals (note: the first five actresses to fill the roles only).

In an interview, Takeuchi-sensei stated that even though the song was conceived when the story was still very new, it seemed to capture the feeling of her story very well.

In the NA dub, this song was replaced with The Sailormoon Theme which used the same melody, but changed the song dramatically in arrangement and lyrics.

In addition to being featured as the opening theme, this song also appeared at various times in the actual anime, in episodes 7, 21, 51, and 137.

The melody of this song is also featured in the anime as the tune that plays on the Orgel.

When they were starting to film the live action series, Sawai Miyuu and Kitagawa Keiko both used this song as their ring tone on their cell phones. Hama Chisaki used Moonlight Densetsu to announce incoming mail.
